Scientism is how this particular manifestation of power legitimizes its authority. All regimes throughout history have claimed to have privileged access to Truth, whether by magic or ability to communicate with deities.

In today’s West the role of mass public education is primarily to foster “faith in science.” Most high school grads (or college grads) can’t articulate a coherent explanation of the theory behind anthropogenic climate change, but they can assure you of their certainty that it is true because the experts say so.

I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on the role of public education in manufacturing consent in this way as a former educator. I’m exploring it myself and have introduced a bit of my thinking here (inevitably in the context of Taylor Swift, because every story in 2024 must refer to Taylor Swift).

"Out of one Many" the parsing of the one into an infinite amount of in groups and out groups, the creating of an alphabet soup of a nation can only breed weakness, which is of course its design.
