Very good article, this explains much of why the intellectual dork web types all seem to be Crenshaw-loving neocons.

Also explains why no one should trust Tulsi Gabbard.

I love your turn of phrase, that “the revolution didn’t stop when they wanted it to.” It’s undeniably true. Once again, great article Auron!

The lack of introspection from these “The Democrats left me” types is always the number one reason why they can never be trusted, unless they come to understand the consequences of their beliefs.

I wonder if this is why "born again Christians" are also viewed with some suspicion.

Nothing new. The right has usually acted to consolidate and make workable the fantasies of the left. Real “conservatives” would be reactionaries, and Barry Goldwater was our last chance for that.

To me neoclowns are more about an aggressive foreign policy than just being former liberals or progressives. Paleo conservatives have much more in common with anti war progressives than they do neoclowns.

I posted this on my FB page and wonder if any of my evangelical right or left will give me a thumbs up...I bet that not a one will give me an up vote. I want not to swell on an island but hope a red pill will

come of it, albeit in silence

It works in the other direction too. I know a 90s-style “moderate Republican” who exclusively criticizes Republicans and sides with Dems, even boasted he voted for Hillary over Trump. “The GOP left me!” he claims. When I congratulated him on becoming a Dem he flipped out. He said “All my [liberal] friends say I’m a rock-ribbed Republican” lol. Coincidentally he lives inside the Beltway. He craves liberal approval. Sad.
