People in the Islamic world are fleeing in droves for Western Europe and the United States. Islamic government is tyrannical, and nothing to imitate. It seems many Americans are losing appreciation for American freedoms and democracy.

There is nothing wrong with being outraged by cultural developments in the country. And there is nothing wrong with aggressively trying to change or reverse that cultural trajectory. But in America's constitutional democratic republic, aggressive political action involves persuasion, mobilization, voting, rule of law, and peaceful transitioning to the loyal opposition when you lose elections.

That is our constitutional system of government bequeathed to us by the Founders, and preserved by President Lincoln. And thank God for that. If you cannot stand that level of freedom for your fellow citizens, you might want to move to a country that is more authoritarian to your liking. But I recommend you do not pick an Islamic country.

You have every right to advocate for policies you believe in, including state action to advance conservative priorities. However, you will be further disappointed. LGBT people are not going to be "eradicated" from public life or forced to the margins society. They have the same Constitutional rights that you and I have. Due Process and the First Amendment prevent state action to force LGBT people to the margins.

Even to the degree social conservatives are able to enact laws they like that can pass constitutional muster, those gains can be reversed by losses to the left in the next elections. Successful persuasion, not force, is required to win elections.

I sure they would be shocked. But they would be shocked by a lot of things in modern society, including women and blacks voting and serving in elected office. Women doctor's treating men would be another shock to them. Not sure what your point is.
